It's one of the most frequent and anxiety-ridden questions I hear from my clients: "Do you think I should I keep growing my hair out, or should I go for a short haircut? Help me!" First off, let me say that you're not crazy - if your hair grows at a glacial pace, then the decision to opt for a short hairstyle chould be a HUGE deal for you! But then again, with good judgment, it can absolutely be the right move. So how do you make this decision in a way that won't have you leaving my salon as a sobbing mess of regret? You want to love your haircut Madison Indiana! my top 5 hair cut tips:1. When considering a short hair cut, don't be impulsive!
Spontaneous decisions can be one of the more enjoyable indulgences of life, but when it's your hair we're talking about, it's best to leave all spontanaeity for the dessert menu. If you are someone with long hair who wants me to lop it all off, I won't do it...unless you are absolutely 100% certain! Look, there's no rush here - take the time to think this one through. Don't do it because you "just saw that movie with so-and-so and her short hair looked amazing"; don't do it because you somehow think it will be less maintenance, and don't do it because it's the trending hair length among your stylish circle of friends. Is a short hairstyle what you really want, or is it because you want to look like _______? 2. Remember your past haircuts. If you have had short hair in the past and rocked it, or if you've never had short hair before but have always wanted to try it, then sure - cutting your hair off should be a good move! (After all, if you don't try it, how will you ever know?) HOWEVER, if your bff looks super cute with that pixie haircut but deep down your subconscious is screaming at you that you don't like your own hair short - even if it's an incredible cut - chances are you will never like it short. 3. How emotionally attached to your locks are you? For some women, their hair length is an emotional safety blanket and a huge part of what makes them feel feminine; for others, their hair is a dramatic channel of self expression and an ever-evolving work of art. Which type are you? If you are attached to your hair but feel compelled to change it, there are many other hair treatments you can consider other than lopping it all off! How about trying bangs? Or a bold hair color? Or what about adding even more length with hair extensions? You can even learn some new ways to style your hair that will give you the change you're itching for. However, if you aren't attached to your hair at all, then yes - go ahead and chop those locks! 4. Know your hairs personality. Do you have naturally curly hair, super thick locks, or fine hair? When it comes to short hairstyles, there are definitely certain types of hair that will work better than others. For example, if your hair has curls like Sarah Jessica Parker, please understand that you'll either be wearing it curly everyday or putting in your time with the flat iron! If your hair is ridiculously thick, your stylist will need to appropriately thin and texturize your hair so it will lay correctly to avoid the dreaded "triangle head". If your hair is thin, then you want to retain as much volume as possible and your stylist will need to be extra careful with layering and thinning. Knowing these things can greatly increase your chances of having an fabulous haircut Madison Indiana women! 5. Find a hair stylist you can trust! If I were in your shoes and knew I wanted to cut off my hair, I know EXACTLY who I would go to. Who is your go-to hair stylist? Ideally you would choose a stylist you really like and who has cut, colored, treated, or styled your hair several times before. You want someone who has experience with your particular head of hair. If you are ready to take the plunge and cut your hair off, trust me - it's not the time to go to a beauty school, or try a brand new stylist, or save a few bucks by having a friend do it. Be thorough in your research and be prepared to spend a little more on your haircut so you leave the hair salon with locks that you love!

It helped when you said that you should have plenty of time to think about your ideal haircut before deciding. My cousin told me last night that he is now considering getting her hair cut after a year without a haircut. She asked if I had any idea where would be the best salon. Thanks to this informative article. I'll tell her that she can consult a well-known haircut and spa service as they can provide more information about her ideal haircut.
